“The Yorp is a very exciting new toy,” said Monika Rogers, President of Allegra Toys. “The YoYo turns inside a ball and opens up possibilities for dozens of new tricks. In addition, Yorp makes traditional moves easier to learn.”
The Yorp is being demonstrated for media at the Allegra Toys booth (#6456) throughout the fair.
“We’ve already generated sales based on the tremendous potential for children new to YoYos, as well as adults that are rediscovering one of the most successful toys of all time,” said Rogers.
YoYos have been in existence almost as long as any toy, with terra cotta examples from 500 BC discovered in Greece. The modern version took off in 1929 when entrepreneur Donald Duncan took over a successful Californian toy company, and started YoYo competitions to encourage the craze. In the 1940s his factories were making 3,600 YoYos an hour and by 1962 the Duncan Company alone sold a record 45 million YoYos in the US – a country at the time with just 40 million children.
If you are interested in Yorp you should visit the Allegra Toys booth (#6456), where it can be played. Also, visit www.squap.com. To set up exclusive interviews, please contact email@example.com or call +1 778 237-0965.

We are pleased to announce that after presenting to the infamous panel of Canadian investors on Dragon's Den, Squap's pitch is set to air on CBC this upcoming January 14, 2015. The episode will air at 8PM, and will re-air on January 23.

Each year the retail members of Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) put their heads together to determine which products most deserve to be recognized with a ‘Gold Star’. NETS Gold Star Awards recognize toys and games that offer ‘exceptional’ play value and durability. These are the toys and games that children never seem to tire of, returning to them for hours upon hours of endless play! The products themselves have demonstrated that they can take stand up to both the test of time and the challenge of repeated use.
We're proud to announce that Squap has been selected as one of only eight toys to be presented with this prestigious award. Thank you to the retail members across Canada that picked Squap as a favourite! To view the list of recipients, visit the NTES website here: http://www.netscanada.org/gold-star-award-winners/
Showing for the first time at the Canadian Toy and Hobby Fair this year, Squap was a huge hit with retailers from across the country. In fact, show attendees dubbed Squap 'one of the most ingenious additions to catch-and-throw-style play to come along in years'! You can read the outstanding reviews online in this article from Toys and Games Magazine.
The feedback was incredibly positive, and as a result, Squap will soon be available in toy stores in most provinces! Check our Where to Buy page for more details.

It’s a fun game that develops motor skills and can be played indoors and outdoors. You can find us in Booth 606 near the Christmas train. We’ll be easy to find because we’ll be playing Squap on-site.
Those of you following our story will know that Squap has sold more than one million units worldwide and is catching on with some unexpected demographics. The toy was invented by my brother Urs in Switzerland to get his son away from the TV and computer, but we also find teens, adults and seniors playing as a way to get moving.
Squap can be played by your self against a wall, in pairs or in a group. Just put the ball into the Squap mitt and open your hand as quickly as possible. The ball launches and then flies through the air. Catch it by snapping the Squap mitt closed around the ball. It’s simple, easy-to-learn and encourages play between a wide range of ages. It also helps kids learn hand-eye coordination while encouraging active play.
